Am I the only person who doesn't see the point in these Karaoke evenings?
Where do they benifit the radio show?

Well I'm going and so I think it's a great idea! just missed Aled at London eye and waited for ages for them to say where they were next, then pegged it across town to get to Covent Garden, got a little lost (I've only lived here 4 years) but just managed to get to Aled and Joce just before they set off again.

I got 4 tickets so I'm dragging my mates along with me, not that they're complaining too much!

Wow cool congrats on getting them, hope you have a good time and you can try recording some stuff as well please for the benefit of the forum.

The point of the kareoke evenings are to get the team a bigger fan base and make themselves known, also to get people to have conversations similar to this:

Person A: Fancy coming down to the local for a pint
Person B: Nah I cant mate sorry but I'm going to the Chris Moyles Kareoke thing
Person A: Oh really whats that?
Person B: Well its that Chris Moyles bloke from the breakfast show on radio one and his team doing some singing and that, sounds like a right laugh
Person A: Oh wow that sounds fun, dont spose you've got any extra tickets have you?
Person B: I have as it happens, would you like to come along?
Person A: Yeah thanks sounds cool

Result = One extra person who will possibly listen to the show regularly, therfore increasing listeners

My computer has blown up so am reduced to internet cafe's at present.

Yes I did go, it was awesome. Really great, small crowd, about 100-120 normo's and a load of Radio1 people. There was an area sectioned off for them but most of them were milling around so I got my photo taken with almost everybody, the only one's I didn't get a photo of were Carrie and Rachel, but I was pestering them for a pen most of the evening so didn't want to puch my luck too far!

I've got loads of photo's and some really bad quality video on my phone which I have no idea how to upload (video not the photo's) but I'll have to wait to get the photo's developed first.

Got a great video of Chris at the beginning saying "As it's a live environment we can use some stronger language,so if you're offended by words such as...." then launches into a foul mouthed tirade including the phrase "Period juice and @rse treacle"

Aled and Joce were running around most of the evening looking busy but I chatted with everyone for a bit, Dom is hilarious, Sophie is really nice, Vernon is a laugh and Scott mills was drunk.

There were a few normo's who got to sing but not many as there were so many Radio1 people who wanted a go but it was still well worth it. If they do one near you I highly recommend you do whatever you can to get tickets, it was a great night out and I'll try to post pics and video when I learn how to do that.
