intresting when i listened too the podcast today. on the show next week is diana vickers, peter jones, jackie chan and will smiths son.

but then chris did what he did on the show today. so it does seem he will do a pre record with scott . then go into the normal show...

who knows what is going too happen contract wise. but i gotta think he is going too be there monday.

It was mentioned a while ago that Diana would be coming in.

It's the new series of Dragon's Den next week so Peter going in makes perfect sense

Also the karate kid starring Jackie and Will's son is out soon. Dom could be interviewing them next week. All logical

I cant see him going at the moment personally. Didn't they recently get the listening firgures up to an all time high? It would be suicide for the BBC to get rid of him now.

Second of all, you're an idiot. Chris is schedule to be on Monday. A replacement and massive announcement would have been made weeks ago. Do you really just expect Chris to slip away with a quick goodbye? There'd be weeks of Moyles Gold etc.

The BBC asked him to make a big song and dance about leaving but he refused, this is his last "* you" to the BBC,he walks and still looks the hero and the BBC look mugs.

Ive tried to tell you whats happening, but you are obviously not understanding. I appreciate the emails from those who have clicked on and hope you understand my responses.

You sound like a new Iain Smith :)

Anybody hear the Golden hour this morning??? Just before the last song Chris said "This is our last song on Radio 1, Have a good life, It's goodbye from us". Hoping that i'm reading to much into that. Could not actually listen to anybody else in the mornings!

Everyone knows how Chris 'doesn't like to make a fuss' - if he was going I think he'd be milking it for weeks. He's hardly just going to go to the toilet and never come back like Chappers did.

But thats just my opinion

I'll have to give today's show a listen at the end but I'm 100% confident that Chris has signed a new contract & will be staying on. I believe they're just trying to wind one or two up on here on cm.net considering that thread that he read out on air a few months back, he's doing it to see what comments will be posted on here & will then probably take the mick out of us on Monday ;)

Considering that Chris was announced as Coxy's replacement in September 2003 & he never took over until January 2004 do you honestly think he's going to slip away quietly and someone will come in & replace him with no fanfare?

Listen to the end of Greg's show today on iPlayer. He announces the schedule changes for next week as he is on holiday...

Matt Edmondson > Chris > Fearne (sorry) > Dev > Scott > Huw

So it's safe to say it's all gravy. But worth setting alarm clocks for 6.30 as no doubt will be an interesting opener.

Well I hope he does go, and concentrates on writing books, there is a literary void which only he can fill.

Why no apology for Matt Edmonson?

I don't think he has signed a new contract at all. I am not saying that he wont sign one, but negotiations are clearly not going well. Chris has made enough comments alluding to him not being here in the near future that I believe him.

The idea that he would spend weeks doing that just to wind up a few people on a message board is just idiotic. And even if he is on air on Monday(which I am sure he will be) means nothing. If they haven't agreed a contract yet they will just carry on week by week until it is either signed or they reach an impasse. Obviously that situation wouldn't carry on forever, but a few weeks is reasonable.

I'm pretty sure Chris (and Dave) worked without a contract before -- his contract had not been agreed, so he kept on working as it was being negotiated.

I'm hoping that's what he's referring to -- that he'll be back on Monday, but working without a contract.

If and when Chris moves on, I'd doubt whether Moyles could ever as big a broadcasting juggernaut as he is now. Commercial radio would have too many interruptions and typical radio2 tunes would have me switiching elsewhere unless it was like a nonstop golden hour type show.

RazorShapre - could you refrain from using capital letters throughout your posts, as it is a very infantile thing to do.

When replying you should also check your spelling - I presume you meant to type the word 'sausages'. Grammar is also very important for you to use, as it allows us to read your message in the context that you intended, perhaps the use of simple quotation marks (" and ") would have been more suitable than trying to use code that you do not understand.

gotta love when 2 newbies with a combined total of 60 odd messages resort too bitching...

i hope he has signed. and if he hasn't. it's a case of crossing the t's and dotting the i's

no way in hell with the highest listening figures in radio 1. and 2nd only too a crap evans show (which will lose figures i can bet on) radio 1 has a brain and andy parfett is a smart man.

chris's new rajah figures must be due in the next month. hopefully he has increased or atleast kept the figures he has now...

question i am sure someone could answer sometime.
when was the last time the figures were at chris's level on radio 1 breakfast. it's prob gotta be mayo or even before that.

my question is. will the figures play a part in the negotiations???

i am sure chris will tell all. he knows his listners will follow. and he knows everyone will want too know and he will say something eventually...

any chance aled's around too shed some light on the matter. not the specifics. but what the state of play is with chris is....

another side note. do you think dave has signed. and if he has and chris hasn't. i feared that vernon could easily take chris's place. could that happen by the end of the month???

Thing is, if Chris does leave breakfast I can see him easily fitting back into Drivetime, it wouldn't really be that much of a demotion either seeing as the second most important show of the day is drivetime. Then again that depends if age becomes a factor, although having said that Mark & Lard were there until their mid 40's so Chris has quite a while to go yet if that's the case.

bit of advice for razorsharpe...

don't entaganise other posters... you will be buried very quickly on this forum. especially when you only been here a month.

you may sound very big headed. but believe me. people like yudster and topher will bury you very quickly.

just ask bradcali. and we haven't seen him since january...

1. No you don't
2. You must give SOME kind of * surely or you wouldn't have come here in the first place?

And if what wireman said was actually true, he'd have been hounded off the boards long ago, so you can make of that what you will. All I was saying was you seem like someone who could be more creative with their insults - I was a bit disappointed that you went with the obvious and dull. But keep going if you want, you never know what might happen.
