Sorry I was referring to this.

I've always referred to them as tentacles before.

how many times do i need to..

OCTOPEE!!

And the things attached to them that wave about are from this day forth called "sausages". I think i'm right in saying that if they lose a sausage, they can grow another one. Nice trick.

Well we both know Console is wrong in this instance.

Actually, Console is completely correct. Octopuses is the correct pluralisation. I love English, it never follows the same rules twice....!

Here's a bit of pedagoguery>>>

Online Etymology Dictionary
octopus
1758, genus name of a type of eight-armed cephalopod mollusks, from Gk. oktopous "eight-footed," from okto "eight" (see eight) + pous "foot." Proper plural is octopodes, though octopuses probably works better in English. Octopi is from mistaken assumption that -us is the L. noun ending that takes -i in plural.

I feel quite safe from the threat of chopping.

Which is what I have been saying all along.

Yes, you have -- but the real question is, will this stop the debate?

Maybe that's where sausages come from? They fall off the HERDS of OCTOPEE and people gather & sell them. Then the octopee just grow new ones! It would be far more humane than the current method of obtaining sausage!!!

Hurray, Lalottie is joining the revolution. I'll need to find a department for you to run under the new regeime. Any ideas?

Foots is in charge of penal correction and baws removal. You can be in charge of making sure everything is nice. It will be a dictatorial regieme but I want to make sure everyone is relatively happy. You can be in charge of that if you like unless you can come up with a better department to run?

OK, since the fires, I'm behind nearly a week in listening to Moyles. I'm still only listening to LAST Wednesday's show and I just nearly fell off my chair. Did anyone else notice that (at 17:24) during the conversation about Chris and Dave's friend who has a "weave," Dave says if you came out of the ocean with a thicker weave you may have "octopuses" stuck in it? Chris corrects him and says, "It's OCTOPI." How funny, cute & topical.

Yes but now Moyles says it's "Octopi."

I'm really not sure why there's a debate as to which is correct. There is only one answer to that, any English dictionary will tell you the same thing - Octopuses. However, as to what people actually say, well, there are clearly more answers to that one. As long as people know that you mean "more than one octopus", I reckon any of the (incorrect) options would work.

It's largely irrelevant how many times you 'tell' us; it doesn't make it true.

Under the new Regime all "facts" stated by the head of the Everybody Feeling Great All The Time Department (snappy name I think) will automatically become "true" for any given value of "true".

As Ms LaLottie is the head of that department and another one as well (can't remember which) what she says goes.

Also the new world government dictator would like to know why Foots has taken to wearing a blonde wig in some posts?

I equate avatars with the real people so I imagine FootLoose goes arounf in front of a large Scotland flag all the time with a small dog by his side.

I never want to bump into Yudster in a dark alleyway....

We can call it the EFGATTD. Snappy indeed!

Although EFGÄTTD sounds like something Ikea would make.

Please note that I am in no way responsible for the blonde wig. It's just Cat making things personal. Plus, blonde really isn't my colour. I was always much sexier as a red head. Ask Zoot.

I was scared of Yudster when I joined here because of her avatar. Now I'm just scared of her.

God has smiled upon you this day... the fate of a nation in your hands!
And blessed be the children who fight with all our bravery, till only the rightous stand!
You see the distant flames, they bellow in the night.
You fight in all our names for what we know is right.
And when you all get shot, and cannot carry on,
though you die - La Resistance lives on.
