Just in case anyone was wondering, its actually a criminal offence to feed captive animals live mammals. Live insects is ok, and its ok to feed live food to your goldfish or whatever, but f you own reptiles or other exotics it is against the law to feed them live mammalian prey. This also applies in zoos. Just thought I'd clear that up.

Its probably against the law to try and stop twisted f*cks doing exactly what mark has said. There are some weird folk out there that would get right into what is tantamount to torture.

Yeah, I was going to say (before I read the bit about insects) that when my dad did bat conservation, he used to get boxes of mealworms to feed them through the post. It wasn't nice.

I didn't know mealworms wore socks.

My mum used to hate having to feed the bats (injured ones, obviously); she used to have to do it when my dad was at work. She had to squeeze the head off and then let the bat suck the insides out or something like that.

I'd have made him do it, myself.
