I wasn't going to say anything on this topic, but since the mWo website has sparked such lively discussion, I feel I should add my bit.
I'm afraid I must agree with M+L and AndyB. When the mWo first started, I thought fair enough, why not. But the introduction of this website just takes the biscuit. Why anyone would spend hours making a website about somthing so incredibly mundane and pointless is completely beyond me. Chris would most probably drop dead on the spot if he realised people were taking him so seriously. I thought I was a geek, but this is geekiness to end all geekiness.

I am dumbing down in a BBC news stylee - unfortunately all the members(with a few exceptions) who have an ounce of intelligence have left this board, largely due to people like you who have their heads so firmly lodged up your arse that I'm sure you can see the interior of your bowel.

I wish I could see the interior of my bowels. Then I could find out what is causing this irritation. However, you ignored the point, your insult was quite lame, “childish”, yes.

Ignored what point? I already said that the reason I make the odd childish comment is the result of dumbing down to....erm.....dumb-asses like you.

M+L Fan wrote:

You are falling into the old negative way of thinking by assuming that 'M+L Fan' means 'I like M+L, but hate Moyles' - now that is a rather childish way of thinking. Just because I promote the one doesn't mean I don't like the other. I can't help feeling if my name had been 'Moyles Fan', you would have said something like; 'That's an original name for a start'.

No, it was your attitude combined with your name that drew me to that conclusion.

M+L Fan is not a very inventive name.

When have you seen my anti-Moyles attitude? Anti-MWo; yes. But, there is a difference. I know your world may revolve around MWo, but mine certainly doesn't.
May not be inventitve - but it states clearly and concisely about my Radio 'tastes'...Yes, I'm waiting for the sarcastic comments...yawn!

M+L Fan wrote:

Show me where I denied being a 'geek' - nope, didn't think you could find it. There are certain degrees of geeks. I think you are a complete arse for example, I also think Osama Bin Laden is a complete arse; but I think it's quite obvious that you are a lesser arse than him. Yes, going a website about a Radio 1 DJ is a bit geeky - but surely not as geeky as spending time on a website and other guff to say stupid slogans on national radio and TV. Hmm?

Once again no, Tall Pall made the mWo web-site, as Chris made this one. The slogan was Chris Moyles’ idea. Does this need any more explaining for you?

Your generalisations hold no basis.

If you wern't so caught up in hate and bitterness, and just paid attention to what I was saying then you would realise that I was referring to whoever is involved in MWo as 'geeks' - I was not referring to anyone in particular. So, my statement still holds firm: People who are sad enough to create a website dedicated to brown-nosing a Radio DJ by saying ridiculous slogans are sadder than someone who just posts messages on a fan-site. So, to quote the great William Shakespeare: 'Kiss my ass'.
M+L Fan wrote:

Well, if you are challenging my spelling, then yes I did mispell it by having an 'h' in it, but then...
Advice? surely advise
Or maybe you are challenging the existence of the word? if so, I am not surprised, as you sound quite a narrow-minded little chap. You obviously begrudge someone like myself being innovative with La Lingua Inglese.

Yes I am so narrow minded I challenge the existence of the word advice. However, I am not little. Further more, your innovative skills are lacking evidence. Surely, “misspell” not mispell?

I was not really taking the piss out of your spelling; as that is rather crude and unsubtle. I wasn't sure whether you were criticizing my spelling - hence, I was pointing out that we all make speling mistakez.
M+L Fan wrote:

Then you just ruin all your little piece of good work by calling me 'psycho'; this ludicrous assumption that my mental health is in question(Dickin stylee) just shows the empty barrel has rather large scrape marks at the bottom.

I made no assumptions about you when making up the word “chilloutpsycho”. However, from the maniacal nature of your posts it seemed appropriate.

The use of the word maniacal either shows you have lost the plot and/or reached for your nearest copy of Roget's. Either way your paranoia is starting to worry me.
M+L Fan wrote:

There is no Mrs M+L Fan - unfortunately I always have to be openly single, because I don't want to be responsible for the mass suicide of 5 million teenage girls Oh dear - I'm dumbing down again.

“Dumbing” indeed.

Well, that reply was hard-hitting and thoughtful...
M+L Fan wrote:

I know, but David Attenborough is so sexy.

Yes he is.

Glad you agree  We have at least one thing in common :)
Penis problems are nothing to be ashamed of as I am sure you have found out. It is nice to see you highlight this issue and support Pele in his cause by flying the Brazilian flag. I respect you for your honesty.

I could do an easy gag here, but I consider myself too mature to lower myself to your level.
I have had enough of you already M+L Fan, you appear quite asinine from some of things you have said. Responding to you has bored me intensely and I have better things to do in the mornings after working exhausting hours. If there were a mute button here, I would use it, however I shall just not read what you have to say.

Bored you so much that you spent a while quoting me, and writing line after line....Oh yeah! that kind of boredom.....hmm, quite.
So you just won't read what I say?
Nah, Nah, Nah...If I don't read it, then I won't hear what the nasty man sais. Very mature.
You are perfectly entitled to jump in at the deep end, my little one, but you surely should have realized you'd be swimming out of your depths.

Yes Sidla commenting on geeks that made me chuckle i mean this is the saddo that sent his picture into the Chris Moyles show and was called a "munter" on nationwide radio and then comes on here to tell us, does that define 'geekiness' i think so.

This is the difinative answer to whatever questions there may have been.

I am not a geek, alright I am, but not for making the mWo website. The mWo was not my idea, neither was the website. But when asked to do it I quite happily said yes. I'm also sorry to say Im not even a big Moyles fan, hes alright but there are more talented radio personalities out there, this was just a laugh to me everyone is taking it to seriously.

Yes I did spend hours working on the site, but i enjoyed every minute of it, especialy creating the art work. Its one of my hobbies, drawing pictures on my computer lol kind off anyway :) You may think this is sad, I dont care its somthing I love to do.

Also when making the site, I did put a lot of effort into making it look nice and some people commented on this, I appreciate that. I dont see how what I did is any different than any other 'creative' hobbies, I shall keep some of the stuff I have done and maybe put it into a portfolio if this is a carear I choose to go into.

Im not at school either so am not on summer break, so no homework so to speak. Actually through rather tragic cercumstances I had to quit doing my degree a few months back, Ive been trying to fill in the time till I can go back.

To tell you the truth Im not surprised to find people criticising, thats up to them, Ill be going onto something else soon enough but will stay around to chat here as its a nice place to post.

A 'belated' TallPall.

P.S. thanks again to the people who have shown there support.

Pall, doing a website isn't geeky really, well it depends on the person, and tbh I dont think discussing what a geek is and isnt is productive. I got a website though and its a good laugh just messing around with flash and dreamweaver, so in my opinion I dont think its that geeky.

Not sure where im going with this. Oh well.

I was going to say something like what you said Pall, but I couldn't put it properly. :P

It just annoys me when people say stuff like "you have too much time on your hands," because if someone enjoys doing something, then fair enough, they do it in whatever time they have because they want to, everyone has different interests etc. :)

I never said I wasn't a geek, in fact, I said I was one, and proud to be so. But there's a fine line between being a geek and being sad. To invent a 'club' with such a pointless cause and then create a website so that people all around the world who don't give a s**t can come and laugh at the pathetic trouble you spent on the website, definately crosses the line.

Well junior you took time out to make a shitty website about you, well you do have a high opinion of yourself don't you, are you bitter that the mWo site has had more hits than yours in shorter time also people round the world would also not give a shit about the time you spent on your pityful webshite. Ionic storm mk2? nah because Ionics site probably gets more hits. Don't flatter yourself if i wanted to read about you i'd look in the 'Male seeks Male' section in your local paper.

Well from now looking at both the MWO's and Sidla's site it does become clear which one has had the effort and talent put into it. That would be the MWO's on presentation alone the MWO is better. I don't see any tacky looking word art scrolling across the top on theres.

so sidla reckons his site is better than the mWo...unless their is an mWo fan site then he must have been troylled when he wrote that post!

Tall paul has made one of the best looking sites on the web at the moment (along with this site of course!) and sidla..well......its so hard to see the text on the grey background is very very difficult to see what it is your clicking on!

sidla we are on a mission..we need a good website..which we have

by the way ive had a website which had 10,000 hits in 3 month before i closed it down..just for the record before i have any "How would you know DRLOZBAKER?"

Let's get this right - any website must be better than that MWo shite. The design is boring(Black background? I don't think so) - I think that is meant to represent the kind of secret society feel that you sad anorak-wearing,socially inept geeks are trying to convey.
And the content of the site is toe-curlingly pathetic; a list of 'mentions' for the sad quasi-homos who are so mentally insufficient that they cling to 'MWo' to feel like they belong to something. And what's all this rubbish about hits? So the more hits the better the website? - presumably then the 2 best singles of last year were Shaggy - It wasn't me; and Hear'say - Pure and simple; as they sold the most copies.
And as for calling someone a geek for promoting the fact that they were called a 'munter' on national radio. I may be mistaken, but isn't Stevo_MWo the same as Stevotrash? The man that got humiliated on National radio by the great man himself - so then what does he do? get involved in a website brown-nosing the same man who made a fool of him!
What-a-geek.

I aint a fan of the mwo, but what's wrong with black? I think it makes quite a nice background colour for a website, although white and blue are better, and grey makes a nice middle colour. Oh god, im actually talking about colours of websites. Help me
User avatar

I agree Andy but the design was dictated to by the fact that mWo was a rip of off nWo. And so sticking with the black, red and white colours. It wasnt a personal choice just a practical one for this site.

White and blue are good website colours as shown by this site, in fact so long as you dont have the colour co-ordination of a 70's disco then most medium strength colours look good. Mixing with lighter tones with medium contrast seems to be the way a lot of new well designed sites are gong, that along with bright and or bold titles.

Once again I appreciate the compliments about the site, but im gona have to re-do some of it as its just not working. Any serious suggestions are welcomed 8)
