Please give a full review. I value your opinion more than some newbie. I reckon you'll like it but don't go in there thinking about the radio show. I made that error.

If Ben doesn't love every minute of it I'll be amazed. He thought the album was brilliant.

I count as some newbie??

I genuinely thought it was brilliant. It's Chris, Dom and Aled just having a laugh. It's never gonna be the radio show but it's converted well into a stage show. The twitter thing was funny as was the banter with the audience. Chris is a true entertainer and also comes across genuinely lovely as well. I thought it was well worth the money and was 2 and a half hours long! That's quite a decent length! Will be interesting to see how different it will be in Leicester on Sunday.

Oh and Chris retweeted me! :)

I was at the Bristol stop of the tour last night and I've got to say it's easily the funniest thing I've been to all year. Everyone on stage played well together and it was amazing to finally see Chris and friends in real life (sad, i know)!

Even with the delays caused by the rain it was a brilliant night and well worth it — even after driving for 3 hours from Bristol to Chepstow (to pick the other half up from work) via the wrong bridge (thanks to the weather) and back to bristol again for the show. Left at 15:45 and finally arrived at the Academy at 19:10! The combination of traffic and crap weather meant I was nearly ready to put my head through the steering wheel :D ! But absolutely well worth it to see him.

If anyone else here is going... you'll love it. I completely agree with everything bmstinton93 said in his 'review'.

Hi I just went & picked up my tickets from the Manchester Academy box office and they said they have a start time down as 8-8.15. Have to assume they know what they are talking about.... X

Or they bought one instead of a phone? Personally I don't understand why people are so annoyed by them. I suppose they obscure things for those behind a bit more. What I don't get is why people spend hundreds of pounds for concert tickets and then end up seeing the whole thing through their phone screen because they record the whole thing.

Sounds to me it's a really good show. I'm going on Sunday too!

Hope that any future dates are in better venues than the dump it was held in Manchester tonight.
A Student Union does not lend itself to a one man show and the queue outside in the pouring rain did little to lift our spirits.
As you can see by the time of this post we left very early. A shame as we were looking forward to this.

Just got back now - enjoyed it more than I thought I might (after reading some bits on here!), was quite bizarre in parts, but very funny pretty much all the way through. Some great banter between Chris and the crowd, although I'll echo what others have said with regard to the amount of swearing... at times it felt like he was doing just because he could, which in turn felt a bit forced.

I didn't have too much problem with the venue as the last poster did. It's one of Manchester's main gig venues, and to be honest I've been to worse ones before! From where I was standing, the show looked fine!

It's a shame it didn't have more reference to the radio show, but I can totally see why they didn't - they've had to move on, and it probably wouldn't have worked with the amount of fuss they had leading up to the last show. Did find it strange that there was absolutely no mention at all of Dave, not even in passing, which does stick out when he was such a major part of the radio show.

Did you try the upstairs bar thinking it might be quieter? *fail* Got there a bit late.

GarethH wrote:Some great banter between Chris and the crowd.

Yes I don't know how many of the others sold out but this one did. He's a great entertainer he can work a crowd exceptionally well. The swearing I think is part of that, he has to be the loudest and brashest in the room or it doesn't work. But to be honest people were just chattering away in certain pockets of the crowd - just as you would down your local, so it's like a giant boozer, just doesn't have the tables.

It was a good atmosphere. I was dreading there being too much Karaoke but I think the talking was more prominent, thankfully. How does Dom manage to be high-pitched for that long? That bit made me chuckle but went on a bit long - bless him though he really got into character, and gave Chris 5 mins backstage.

Twitter being what it is - I think the interactions with the crowd and their profiles was great, what must she have been thinking?? ......

"How can you...DO THAT?? Oh yeah..it's the internet, everything I put up there is...in the public domain *facepalm*"

Aled was funny, for those of you who didn't see it hopefully he'll post the picture of him on the pull, that was funny.

And of course what they're up to now was good. Had to dash though, so didn't catch the end. I do see what people are saying about it being scripted, you'd have to be sadly deluded to think it was a last hurrah for the radio show (now they're not actually on the radio). But all in all, for me, it marks the end really.

That's it. All over. 2012 over 'n out.

There can be no more making money off the back of the hugely successful Radio 1 era. He must reinvent - and I look forward to him being back on the radio soon!

Do i take it that me criticising the venue makes you think I turned up late for the show?

The real point was that with a venue holding allegedly 2000 there should have been more than the one entrance to save people queuing in the rain and for the price of the ticket it should have been in a venue where everyone had a chance to see.

No, not at all, just general comment on the inadequacy of the venue. The upstairs bar was small but just as busy.

Did you turn up late? I have no idea if the queue was as big at 7, you see.

Thanks for the tips. :D

Can't get my head around people who are complaining? Don't even get me started about the rain!?!?!? I know Moyles is the saviour and Dom does the weather, but that's taking the p1ss.

For me and I think any one who is a huge fan, this show was far from a let down, I can't speak for people who were at the first shows, I went to Liverpool Friday and was lucky enough to MEET Chris, Dom & Aled backstage as I was chosen to sing on stage.

Chris said himself to me, the show had no premise 2-3 weeks before the first date, they strung it together last minute and have improvised nightly. It's just Chris Dom & Aled goofing about, which essentially was the radio show!

Also, Dom mentioned to me he has a new job on a radio show in the new year, obviously not the BBC.
Moyles said he is and I quote "Taking a massive F#####G holiday"

It was a let down in terms of what it should have been and I am a huge fan. It was nothing like the radio show which is my major complaint with it. Chris appears to be forgetting why he is famous and its because he is an excellent radio host, the best in fact. Chris Moyles the cheeky chappy entertainer isn't what I want to see to be honest.
That being said I can't bash the show completely. As I said in my original review of the show there are bits which are very funny and I did enjoy the show but I just wanted it to be more like the Radio show.

I am not going to criticise anyone who enjoyed the show. I didn't think it was anything to write home about, but I was at the first show and maybe it has improved since. It certainly wasn't the tripe that the album was. Judging by what people are saying about the later shows it seems that Dom and Aled were involved more, which wasn't the case on the opening night.

Regarding the swearing and the suggestion that it was all part of Chris being the loudest, brash one, I don't agree with that. Chris was the star of the show and the loudest of the group when he was on the radio without the need for gratuitous swearing. I swear a reasonable amount and am not offended by it when used in context, but at the show I was at Chris was swearing for the sake of it, in the absence of genuine wit and simply because he could.

And about the issue of closure, the closure was the end of the radio show. The radio show ended perfectly on the final two shows. They did everything they wanted to do there.

That was the closure.
