Thanks.

Yup, i've used both and found invision a lot more admin friendly and a lot more customable.

It might be each to their own tho.

Oh, and whilst you're in your User Control Panel, you can also set BST so the times all display correctly.

Ha yeah I like that.

I also like that if someone posts in between you reading a thread and replying to it, you get this message:
At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this.

Then it shows you the new post(s).

You can also do this:

Like this:
Code: Select all

Or this:

Like this:

Another bit of constructive critisism:

It is a bit harder to distinguish between different posts in a topic. Would it be possible to either make the background of every second post slightly darker or put a line between each one? Id think a darker background would probably do it.

Either that or make the opposite post background slightly lighter, if you know what I mean.

I changed it slightly .. better now?

Also, because I know it'll please pretty much everyone, I've put the profile information back to the left.

Cheers boss

I think having the profile info on the left helps as well coz you naturaly are looking there when reading the post.

I didn't mind names on the right but I'm happy either way.

I like to sit on the fence.

Sire, whilst it looks very good indeed, and I'm sure that I'll get used to it. I hate to be a pain, but could you darken the "new posts in here" icon, it's difficult to distinguish from the "no new posts" icon.

Also, is there anyway of having a different background colour or text colour in order to separate the "posters details" from the actual "post", I have highlighted these two areas via the use of red circles. It's just a little too similar. Thusly.

I would be ever so greatful.

Yours faithfully
Ballbag.

I must admit, I like the way your second point is set out already. The title of the post is aptly boldened and the post info underneath is small enough that you don't think it's part of the post. In my opinion. I agree about the new posts / no new posts icon for each thread.

Sire, having had a quick browse around, I've come up with another request that may seem picky, but nonetheless, it's something that I feel would help improve the site.

Is there any chance that you may move the "number of pages" icons, closer to the thread title.....thusly.

It would just make navigation a little easier.

Kindest regards

See I like that as well... you're just being picky bag for balls, there's no point in changing the look of the forum if you're just going to change everything back to how it was before, it just takes some getting used to.

Baggie, how can I put this, shut up !

Do you know how annoying it is for someone who has worked long hours on a project to have little picks at it, nothing is ever 100% first off. Any all the things you want others might want differently, so you can't please all the people etc, so why should you think that your desire is valid ?

And it's frightfully sad and anal to do it anyway !

If it's broken, then lets get it fixed, but you don't get on a bus and ask for the seats to be moved, and the driver not to whistle, you sit there and enjoy the ride !

Actually, I've not been on a bus for a few years, but when I have been I've never enjoyed the ride. Must be the shit bus drivers we employ.

Also, this was a message from a certain member in the chatroom last night (not word for word but as I remember it):
Basically it's like before the forum was a tabloid and now it's a broadsheet.

Take a guess who said that load of old bollocks...

hahah Boboff you big grump, it's not like I'm the only one who have suggested things, so no I don't think it should be tailored to me.

Granted the nature of my posts do seem a little anal and picky and I apologise to Console and Chris if I seem a little critical. Perhaps I should have given more time so that I may get used to the changes. On the whole I think the change is pretty darn groovy, and a big double barrelled thumps up must go to Console and the Chris.

I can kinda see what you are saying about the header but its not something I would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

I asked a similar thing yesterday and has been made darker...?
