Best way to wind Topher up is to ask him how the Ping Pong is going.

Actually, I would like to say - if certain more longstanding members of this forum don't like the things that are posted here, perhaps they should occasionally post something themselves? There are a lot of responders in this group, and not so many initiators. What is the point of a forum if it is not active? So, if you aren't prepared to post something interesting or useful or entertaining, don't complain if you don't like what the people who can be bothered to post are doing. If you don't like the content or tone of the forum, change it by posting something you do like, not bitching about other people's threads.

Rant over.

Yadda yadda.. sorry but as much as I try not to comment, some of your posts are begging for 'sarcasm'.

*tries not to get wound up* it's table tennis I tell ya.

It's going quite well, thanks. Mrs Topher beat the England number 35 on Sunday.

I have images in my head of Mrs Topher playing ping pong with a giant number 35, like a person in a "foam 35 costume".

I know this is not the reality, but I'm sticking with it.

**Quote-A-Thon V - The Quote Strikes Back** (we may have had that, we may also be further on than QV, but I aint checking!)

Ok, here we go again...

Kwyjibo wrote:I did have an idea that chrismoyles.net could open a cafepress shop, with the funds automatically donated to comic relief, but I guess the use of the banner would contravene some sort of copyright, and permissions would need to be sought from everyones face used in it, so maybe not such a good idea.

Still, would love to have a chrismoyles.net mug.

I like the foot-loose sig, good idea that.
I've been ebaying for red nose day.

Whats a cafepress shop? Wogan's TOGs all club together and raise a small fortune for CIN. I think they sell a calender. That said, I think they are a different sort of crowd over at togs.org!

Personally, Ive always supported CIN and Comic Relief. I saw what Yudster said earlier about wanting to give the money to a charity of her choice rather than letting someone else decide where the cash goes. Thats fair enough, I just think that if you watch and enjoy the tv show (which I generally do) then I would feel guilty if I didnt give them something.

Again - Click the sig to donate!

Bag for balls wrote:"This is from all the geeks at chrismoyles.net, we asked for donations and raised £3.60."

............ t'aint gonna happen even if you wanted too. Plus you should really be donating for the reasons of trying to get a mention....... that's just not cricket.

lol. Speak for yourself! I've given them a larger chunk than that already!

You shouldn't be trying to get a mention tho, thats just weird!

Bag for balls wrote:I like my anonymity........ rather like Clark Kent.

Yeah, but when he took his glasses off, he turned into that hunk, superman. You... have big balls.

Do as we say and not as we do etc...

example; I fire some of Tophat's 'humour' (i.e a similar sarcastic comment) back at him and he moans at me for it instead of assuming it to be sarcasm like he tells me to do...

Like I said when I joined, the board used to come across as a kinda clique (sp?) that hated newbies and moaned about the show all the time.

I can understand if some new person comes on and generally arses about, but most will prob contribute fairly sensibly. (I've been made to feel welcome mind you, so I wont complain any more!)

I don't think there is anything wrong with people constructivly critisising the show, but just saying "thats not as good as it used to be" isn't good enough. (imo!)

Yeah but they're not always on show, like superman who could couceal his identity with a pair of specs, I can do the same with a strategically placed pant arrangement.

Look at them! How can you have a "strategic pant arrangement" for that?

A canopy perhaps... maybe some sort of umbrella! But not something your gonna be able to pickup in Primark!

Actually, when I read it first I thought he had said "a strategically placed PLANT arrangement". Which would probably do the trick, actually.

I did mean to write plant.......... I carry with me an arrangement of fern bushes, I find they do the trick....... a little itchy though.

Over 30 is not old. You too will one day be over 30. Why should I stop listening to R1 beynd the age of 25. I'm gonna be tuned in at 90, and be buried with my radio

Read my post again. I never said that 30 is very old, but relative to my age (the ripe old age of 23), over 30 is old. It may not be ancient, but it's older than me, therefore in relation to me, it's old. Is that clearer?

I also never said you should stop listening to radio 1 after 25; I have no interest in what the target audience is and never even mentioned it.
