Blackadder responds with a sarcastic "in english we say 'good morning'"

Why I know that, I have no idea.

Did you know that every Richard Curtis production has a character in it called Bernard - always a fairly geeky, unlikeable person - its a reference to some bloke called Bernard who copped of with Curtis's girlfriend while they were students I think. Something like that anyway. But thats what made me think it was probably Richard Curtis.

Haha, actually I remember that now you mention it!

It's definitely in the top 3 for me, with Only Fools and Fawlty Towers (apparently I only like sitcom series).

Is it sad that I've got the full boxset of all of them?

Ha, like in Blackadder II, Nursie's real name is Bernard!

Its not sad - its classic british comedy at its best!

I recently bought One Foot in the Grave boxset - £50 well spent I feel.

My top three would be One Foot, Fawlty Towers and Blackadder although not necessarily in that order. Most of my mates would kill me for not having Only Fools in there though!

I could never get into Father Ted. I always felt it had quite funny moments, rather than being consistently hilarious, which I think Only Fools, Blackadder and Fawlty Towers are.

I quite liked One Foot - my mum didn't like it because Meldrew reminder her of my dad!

Why is that so funny ? It just tickles me. Silly chap, but it's the simple things in life isn't it.

Saying Excrement for excellent, is another one that continues to amuse, although that does verge on the Alan Partridge type humour of observation of tossers, so maybe I better take that back.... errr, not sure

Ahh - see I was going for "new ayrshire potatos" which are only available at certain times of the year!

It may sound a bit contrived now, but mum had been going on about it last week.
