Yes, kind of like that - but its on the same page as the forum index, so is much more accessible - and you can like it or lump it, a large number of users of this forum have difficulty accessing the chatroom. It isn't reliable - although it is clearly improved on what it was. The chatroom is a separate thing from the forum - the shoutbox is part of the forum.

Look, I'm not particularly lobbying for it - personally I think it'd be a good idea, but it's not anything I'm going to lose any sleep about!

I do like the idea of a shoutbox but I noticed on Aleds shoutbox that a conversations could be taking place and when you log in you have no clue what they are on about more so when the topic started a while ago and is not showing even when you scroll up, can be rather worrying with some topics

Then you could just ask as in "hello, what the bloomin heck are you on about?" works for me.
