No, I think he does understand. I have always said in the past that Chris sees good and bad comments on here, but cherry picks the bad ones to highlight on air because it makes good radio. I still believe this to be true, although in fairness this rant was slightly different in that I think he recognises that this is a problem for him. He has said before how he hates lateness in other people and has obviously famously kicked numerous people off the show for not turning up for interview on time. Therefore - and I'm only speculating - I would imagine that deep down he agrees it is bad (in fact he pretty much admitted as such this morning when he read the original post from this thread out and said 'yeah, fair enough') but for whatever reason that's not enough to get him up on time. That's what I think anyway.

That was probably my favourite link for a long time. It was such a classic Howard Stern-esque segment and was a really nice change of pace from the usual formula that starts the show. I love moments like that because I think it rewards the long-term listeners who treat it as episodic must-hear radio instead of just background noise for 30 minutes of the morning. I wish he would do it more, but then maybe it wouldn't be so interesting. But any time he channels Stern, I'm completely hooked.

This morning I only turned the radio on just before he started reading out the posts from this thread, including mine. I have just listened to it from the start and I didnt realise how genuinely peed off he was with it all.

I love Chris and the show, and wish I hadnt expressed my views the way I did because:
1. I came across as a pillock
2. It seemed as if I hated him! I bloody love the man and the show. He is the best radio presenter/DJ I have ever heard.

Pretty disapointed that on the one occasion he reads what I post it comes across as if I hate him.

Who really cares. I don't! Whoever says that they have never been late to work it a LIAR. I have been late to work a few times, I have apologised and got on with my life and so have my colleagues.

As to him reading it out in the morning. Again who cares! We alright about him and talk about him so you will have to respect that he will read it out loud. If you didnt want him to read it out then dont WRITE about it your halfwits!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get on with your own lives and carry on listening to him!

it's always the wierd usernames too.

did it just use 'alright' to mean 'all write'?

plus i dont think there was any real objection to him reading it...in fact the only unfortunate by-product of that is people tend to flock to the website, sign up and drop their own anonymous comment in as if we'll value their barely legible, noisy opinion.

while i don't really mind his late-ness, it seems to be saying that the forum alleged that noone has ever been late for work...it's more than rare for chris to be late, and that was the gripe.

have a nice day.

I have no objection to him reading it out whatsoever. As a real fan of his, I care about the fact that he got the understandable, yet incorrect, impression that I dislike him. I am not saying that I am relevant to him in any way, shape or form, but he is relevant to me and I didnt want him thinking I have some hate for him, which I do not.

Its my fault, I knew he read this forum and it was me who typed what I did.

And why are newbies coming on this site telling us what we can and cant think/say. We have our opinions and we will express them as we see fit.

We are not saying don't express your opinions. You are entitled to them and to express them, as we are entitled to express our views to, even if we are 'newbies'! People should feel free to come on regardless whether they are new to the forum or not and express their opinion. Hence why the Roman's create forums.

BUT, people should not feel intimidated whether they are new or not when they express their opinion about someone who has been posting for longer than other people.

Fair enough, its just that generally when a load of newbies join after the forum gets a mention on the show, they tend to be casual fans who will be unlikely to agree with or understand a lot of what is said on here simply because they dont care as much.

The more genuine fans will find their way to this place naturally in my opinion without it being referenced on the show.

:) all write, no knead to get are see.

it's probably to do with the face that your first post alienated yourself from the whole forum by referring to the, as 'you' and condemning the actions of people who we are familiar with.

also, your opinion is in the singular. refer to it as that, otherwise you're speaking on behalf of others : which isn't what you stand for ;)

i'm guessing you just wiki's forum and found a way to work the definition into your post...you were probably looking for : disambiguation > internet forum

if you walk into a pub, spout your mouth off at one of the regulars and bitch and moan when people don't like you - then you've got a warped understanding on human interaction on any medium. just because it's a public forum, doesn't mean that everyone has to like you : especially when you intentionally set out to take the moral high ground. if you feel intimidated when you have to defend your inflammatory comments, then you must look at yourself and wonder why you encourage such response, if you wish not to receive any feedback but negative. seems that is the kind of attitude that kim-jong il would take.

i'm off to see my friends band so i'll have to bid you adieu :)

Thing is Felix, when the site gets a mention on the air, we end up with a bunch of folk who can't string a decent discussion together. Those who have been around a while learn that these new people turn up, they try and say something that will get them noticed either by us or by the show then get bored and disappear. While I agree that noone should feel too intimidated to post something, those who are on here most days will be expected the majority of those who appear after a show mention to not last long and not to put forward a worthwhile discussion.

Occasionally, a little dimond in the rough sticks in there and we end up with someone worthwhile. Or Devils Duck.

Welcome along by the way 8)

Listening to the rant on the iplayer now.

Ok fair enough. I'm not a casual fan, i've been listening to the show for years. Started listening to him when he did the afternoon show. Just decided to join because I wanted to voice my opinion. Don't really do forums as a rule.

Firstly, sorry for called you a prick.

But dont appreicated the 'all write' and 'knead' at the top. At the age of 7 I was diagnosed with mild form of dyslexia and though I have worked bloody hard to try and overcome it, now and again I do make silly mistakes.
