Don't know if any of you have seen this but the footballer Joey Barton has been saying the most vile and hateful things about Chris on twitter today, saying how he should be pensioned off and threatening to physically attack him. .Aled was told about it but refused to get involved. What is the mans problem? It's 2 days to christmas and he's just attacking everyone .His tweets are the m ost negative and spiteful I've ever seen. What a miserable man!
PS if you want to see just what a disgusting and miserable person he is go here https://twitter.com/Joey7Barton .It will just depress you though. Money and fame can't buy happiness it seems

All there was on Twitter was a few tweets from Joey Barton saying that he doesn't like the Moyles show and prefers Chris Evans. And all Aled said was that it was hard to get concerned about it when he (Aled) has no idea who Joey Barton is.

Ben is right, you do like to make a fuss don't you chrisjames.

he's actually the current captain of QPR, but you're right about him being a no-mark.

Put into context, the scenario isn't as incongruously violent as it seems. A youth player (James Tandy I think?), was attempting to light Barton's coat (which he was wearing) with a cigarette lighter, and Barton reacted viciously.

It was during a time where Barton had rage issues, and an alcoholism problem. While he's a colossal tit on and off the field - I think it's much better than the sins of his past. At least he's picked himself up - shame he's had to be such a colossal hipster in the process.

See that whole scenario seems so far beyond normal to me. Reminds me of when I read Paul Gascoigne's autobiography and he was talking about some of the things he and his "mates" got up to as youngsters - one episode sticks in my mind , when he recalls driving off in a van at high speed knowing that his "mate" was standing on the roof. Gascoigne said that he couldn't understand why his "mate" was so furious with him, even though he fully accepted that he could have easily killed him. There's a complete void between actions and consequences for some people it seems to me. Again with Gascoigne - he recounted the time when he had volunteered to take care of a little kid (he was just a kid himself at the time but old enough to know what he was doing) and he just didn't bother about the lad who then ran into the road and was killed. Gascoigne says that the guilt he felt about this was the reason for all his later problems - but he completely fails to understand or accept that the guilt is deserved, he is blaming it for HIS problems rather than accepting that it is a proper response to what he did and dealing with THAT.

Joey Barton is a tosser, but he is nothing compared to the utter arsehole that is Paul Gascoigne.

They're talking a load of shite if they think the ramblings of that raddled and brain dead drug and alcohol abuser are anything other than total dick-drippings.

A couple of the thousands of differences between Cantona and Gascoigne are that Gascoigne actually believes the crap he says and has no idea why his life is in such a mess, whereas Cantona blames no-one but himself for his problems, therefore stays, on the whole, in control of them. And the things he says are said deliberately to amuse, confuse and generally have fun. Also Cantona is intelligent, well educated and not only well read, but capable of understanding the things he has read - Gascoigne is none of those things.

Actually, yes!
