We usually only had 5 candidates on the ballot paper, Conservative, Labour, SNP, Lib Dems or Independant. So you can knock off Labour, Independant and SNP (don't like Alex "fat face" Salmond and don't want an independant Scotland). That leaves only 2 so what would you vote for in those?

Alex Salmond is far better than any other option plus they seem to have been less irritating than the others over the past few years. And I don't want an Independent Scotchland either.

Also, there was a lot more than five candidates on my last ballot paper. Granted, I hadn't heard of most of them, but that's not the point.

I thought the Guardian review was pretty good in perspective of it being from, well, the Guardian.
But does anyone agree that sometimes the way the show is, with it being more about Chris and the team working together and really just bouncing off each other, is perhaps why other reviewers don't write it up well, and perhaps why others tune in and tune out because they don't get it?

Or are these just the musings of a mad man... mwah

Guardian review = good. Guardian = poor, biased, class-obsessed, doom-mongering badly written living on past glories but nowhere near as good as it used to be. And I have read it.

Well - back then it would have been Lid Dem - in fact, given the choice of Tory and Lib Dem, it would still be Lib Dem, I could never bring myself to vote Tory, however, in reality it wouldn't have made much difference.

Also, didn't John Reid stand down at the last election, so the Labour candidate would have been different?

Edit: in fact that is true, as the current MP for John Reid's old constituency is still Labour.

Instead of spending time in his constituency he spent the time when he was supposed to be here or in London a Celtic Park. So when football comes before the people that you are meant to be fighting for the area, then you don't get my vote.

Se my local Labour MP, Mike Gapes, actually does stuff, he's constantly campaigning against the closure of King George Hospital (in Goodmayes) and does show up at quite a few events locally as well, he actually lives in Ilford as well, which for most local MP's near me is a rarity.

I read the Guardian on a Saturday too. I'm definitely not posh, but I could probably be described as bunny hugging. And I'm not ashamed of that. Who doesn't like hugging bunnies?

The Guardian posted a follow-up article to their review week yesterday, 'The battle of breakfast radio: your verdicts'. Chris didn't exactly fair as well here as he did in the actual show review...

BBC Radio 1

Ben Dowell's surprisingly positive review of Chris Moyles' show on Radio 1 drew the most comments this week, prompting some to wonder if he'd actually listened to his show following his statement to Moyles that "I actually think you are extremely good at your job". There was also some disquiet about Moyles' 600k salary. ManchesterMajority surmised that the DJ was a "self-important egotistical boring prat". NonOxbridgeColumnist pointed out that Moyles' on-air claim that he "doesn't give a rat's arse" what Ben thought, was the "sort of egotistical crap [that] stops me from ever tuning in. It's also very reminiscent of what led to Chris Evans being booted off Radio One".

Of "Comedy Dave" bluedaddy suggested "At some point, any person with a bit of dignity would ask that this tag be dropped. Moyles employs the same, 'I don't care what anyone says, I'm rich and famous, and you're a nobody' line that Bernard Manning used. The only difference is Manning was more of a looker."

They essentially admit in the first line; 'Ben Dowell's surprisingly positive review of Chris Moyles' show on Radio 1', that they didn't expect their reviewer to like the show at all and think he's wrong.

That's the kind of toss I hate, instead of them accepting that he likes it & they may have been harsh they dismiss his review as wrong, the supposed "intelligent" Guardian readers are always like this anyway (and by intelligent I mean pompus, snotty, know it alls), as for the comment on Manning looking better than Moyles, yes because that person is so big for making that comparison
