IMO no. I've been saying this for months, but am consistently told by people on here that Newsbeat needs separate news and sports readers, I think the last couple of days have disproved that.

Does she add anything to the show? Has anybody missed her while she's been gone?

I have to say I don't think she's needed for the show. She's obviously a lovely and pleasant woman, but I don't think she gels with the rest of the gang and she certainly doesn't add anything to the show. Aled irritates me but at least he has a job to do, whereas Dominic could cover sports quite easily.

I was thinking about just Dom doing the news and sport and thought that there was no need for Carrie as she was great to start with but suddenly started to get irritating. I think they will get another sports reader next year as it is another member to add to the team and therefore is another possible avenue for material for Chris. I think that unofficially Carrie has left the team and the Chris Moyles show as i very much doubt she would miss todays events!. Merry Christmas all!!

As already mentioned on the show, it's her sisters wedding this weekend, so I'd imagine she probably would miss today's party.

I don't mind the idea of having a separate sports reader, but someone who can actually read would be good.

I don't see the point of separate news and sport presenters when it lasts only a couple of minutes.

I like Carrie - she comes across as quite normal to me - and I do think there's a need for separate news and sports readers - it's quite obvious that Carrie knows her stuff and is really interested in sport, which not all newsreaders are.

Just my opinon of course .........

Beyond a vey girlie obsession with footballers legs, what exactly is it which has brought you to this conclusion - I have never heard anything which makes me think she knows any more than me, or you, or Mafro, or thousands of ordinary punters. And even if she did, she still can't read without constantly stumbling and fluffing her script. I'm sure she's a lovely person though.

I've heard/seen her talking about sport on other programmes - she actually knows quite a lot, which surprised me. Because before that, I had been of the opinion that she just 'read' it and didn't really know much about it.

Get rid of Rachel first. She's the most bossy, sullen and whingey-voiced producer Moyles has ever had. I guess she's been put where she is by R1 bosses to keep Moyles in check. If she has to produce, then she can do so from another room and talk to Chris via talkback. Just keep her away from the microphone.

Carrie is alright, actually. She's made out to be a bit of a trollop by Moyles & Co., but she seems nice enough.

If it isn't a story about Chelsea, she doesn't seem interested at all.

Voted Yes, but now i think about it, i probably should have gone for option 3.
I quite like Carrie as she can be quite unintentially funny at times. She also takes a slagging from CM pretty well.
However, i'm not convinced there is any real need for a seperate sports person when someone as capable as 'The Mighty Dom' is on the news

A bit of wishful thinking there i think but then again we can always live in hope.

I thought the same as rich. First she was AWOL for the podcast the other week and now she pulls a sickie. Seemed odd.

Unless her absense from the podcast was explained and I missed it, in which case I'll have to dream up another conspiracy theory.

Anyway, I voted NO. Carrie on Footballers annoys me far more than anything else lasting a minute ever should.
